Peru
I started my journey
in peru. landing in the highly polluted lima was a real
shock. All the mess and traffic was really overwhelming.
From lima i escaped
north, to trujillo and its unique archeological sites.
I then headed to untouristic northern peruvian andes and
then back again to huaraz - the trekking capital of peru.
The famous huayhush trek, was followed by summiting my
first peak: the 5680m vallenaraju. from the top u can
see the entire cordillera blanca, Negro and huyahush.
I then headed back
to lima and straight south again through pisco, ica and
finally cusco - the old inca capital. visited the machu
pichu was nice but not the highlight of cusco. the trek
to the newly discovered inca city of chuqo quirao and
a paragliding course over the sacred valley were much
rewarding.
After some 3 weeks
i continued to ariqiupa and the colca canyon, saw some
condors and headed through the floating islands of Puno
into Bolivia.
